About Us at Little Ropers Woodland CampingTomandNatashawelcomeyoutoLittleRopersFarm.Wearea small,familyrun,100acremixedfarmintheStourValley:asmall oasis in the midst of much larger arable holdings. Thefarmiscurrentlybeingfarmedbythe3rdgenerationofthe Mead family, having owned the farm since 1950.We run a small beef herd of predominantly Aberdeen Angus cattle. The cattle spend the spring and summer roaming the grassland in the sunshine. When the weather starts to turn we bring them back to the yards for winter to keep warm and dry. They are fed a grass based diet year round, with the young-stock additionally fed Barley grains for an increased protein intake; this is grown and crimped on farm allowing us to be fully self-sufficient with our feed. We are proud members of the British Red Tractor Farm Assurance Scheme, ensuring our livestock are reared to one of the very best welfare standards in the world. Calving season is usually January to April so if you are camping at that time you may be lucky to see a new born calf! The campsite at Little Ropers started in 2015 after Ellie hosted some of her friends in the woodland. Their enjoyment and positivity for this small piece of Suffolk Countryside sparked the idea to share the area with the public as an alternative campsite. With limited facilities on site we promote ‘back to basics’ and ‘nearly wild’ camping; a place to escape the stresses of modern life. We have since grown the site to include a few pitches on the meadow next to the woodland and added additional amenities such as the campsite shop and the use of the showers back at the farm; whilst retaining the intimate feel of the site. We enjoy welcoming back returning campers year on year and often multiple times a year!
